To determine how much water you need, divide your weight by 2 and drink that amount in ounces. For example, if you weigh 150 pounds that’s 72 ounces which is about 9 cups. The American College of Sports Medicine recommends to drink 16 ounces of extra water before you exercise, and to sip on 4-8 ounces during exercise, and another 16 ounces after exercise.
