How to Deal With Headaches
Have you had more headaches than normal lately? This could be because many of us are spending more time in front of electronics, whether it’s watching more TV daily, taking online classes or working and staring at a laptop screen all day, or just spending an increased amount of time on your phone. Staying home and practicing social distancing can make it difficult to not spend more time in front of screens. That’s why it’s important to remember these tips to try to avoid that headache creeping up on you.
- Stay hydrated! Drinking enough water daily will help you avoid getting those annoying headaches that are caused from dehydration. If you’ve noticed you’ve been getting headaches lately, pay attention to your water intake and if you’ve been slacking or not. It can be hard to keep track or keep up with it when at home, so try using a motivational water bottle to keep track!
- Give your eyes a break! Take a break every now and then from the screens for a refresh. Wash your face with cool water and get some natural light or fresh air. Take a nap in a quiet, dark and cool room.
- Make sure you’re eating right! Don’t snack on junk food throughout the day. Snack on fruits and veggies and replenish your body with healthy, balanced meals.
- Try some essential oils! These can be a great headache reliever! Whether you diffuse them or mix them with a carrier oil and roll onto your temples, they can help you relax and bring pain relief. Rosemary, Peppermint, and Lavender essential oil are beneficial in helping to relieve headaches.
